Word for Today. Topic:The Cost of Discipleship. Text: Romans 12:1-2. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Amen. Everything worthwhile costs something. What do you want more than anything else? Whatever it is, it will cost you. Some know what their goals are and are willing to pay the price to attain those goals. They will break hearts or ride over people to reach these goals no matter what it costs-ethical or unethical. Some are determined to get what they want. But there is nothing that demands a higher price than being the apple of HIS Eye and knowing that underneath are everlasting arms. The cost involves one of two wills being surrendered. The cost of discipleship is surrendering your will to HIS will. It means allowing the will of God to precede yours though he respects our will. To surrender is the hardest thing in the world. Yet HE has a perfect plan for you. Surrender that will of yours. Surrender it! It is not easy, but it is worth it. You may aspire greater things and say,Look what I can be. Look at my potential. I can be the worlds greatest. The crowd can applaud you. But its temporal. All is so empty when you realize how fickle people are and how short life can be. GOD tells us that HE knows the plans HE has for us. Plans that will bring us to an expected end. HIS expected end. An end expected of you by GOD. And we can only reach that expected end when we surrender. I pray that you will become a living and acceptable sacrifice unto HIM,filled with the HOLY SPIRIT, and led by the SPIRIT. Surrender now for HIS plans and promises are Yea and Amen. Praise GOD forever more!! SHALOM!
