Word for today Psalm 103 A psalm of David. 1 Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. 2 Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. (In the day to day it is easy for us to miss the little things the Lord does for us. We are called to be thankful in all things, not just because the Lord wants to hear it, but during these times of thanking Him, we are focusing on Him, focusing on the positive. This helps to keep our mindset where it should be, rather than where it wants to be. Happiness is hardest to achieve if we focus on the negative). 3 He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. 4 He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. 5 He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! (We see here that the first part is easy for us to know. The forgiving of sin. But, it is also the hardest to believe when we are down. But here we are reminded All Sins, not some sins, not only for those who are the most faithful, but all sins from all people when asked and done so in a penitent heart. Your sin, my sin, and little sin and big sin. Approaching the Lord in faith, and repenting for and asking for true forgiveness.... yields it every time. It does not mean that you can go out and repeat the sin, ask for forgiveness, repeat the sin and so on. It means you did the sin, put it behind you, and work to correct it so it does not happen, even if you fail a couple of times. Healing from disease means that either you become cured or He finally removes you from the suffering in His way. And crowning with love and mercies speaks for its self here. We must focus on the good things He provides us, not the things we feel entitled to, or things that bother us. Focus on what He has graced you with). 6 The Lord gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly. (Justice comes if not now in this time, when the person committing it seats for judgement. Remember the Lord always judges justly. This is why we should not seek vengeance but trust in the Lord.Peace and being made right will come for the wronged, again when it is in proper time with the Lord). 7 He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people of Israel. 8 The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. 9 He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. (Over and over in the bible we can see where He demonstrated who He is. His compassion for us, His love for us, His mercy to us, and the massive grace He extends to us. God is so awesome, and loving that His love never fails. When we mess up, do things we shouldnt we see people turn their backs on us, but when we screw up we see God allows us to learn from it and never truly leaves us. Yes there is a lesson, but more than that is His great love. He wants us to succeed in the lessons we are here to learn). 10 He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. 11 For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. (I dont know about you, but for me I have done things in my life I am not proud of. In those things I would have expected not to have received all I have. I would have expected to get the smackdown, or something. But I was corrected and put back on task. Reminded and rewarded. Blessed after repenting, and so on. Only God does that. His love is bigger than anything we have ever known. For those who come to Him and repent and then get right on the walk....... His love cannot be matched). 12 He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. (This verse reminds us that when we step to God, He not only forgives, but removes our sin, making us right so we can be in relationship with Him) 13 The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. (He corrects not punishes, leads not dictates, loves not bullies) 14 For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. (This is my favorite verse, it reminds us that God knows us totally. It reminds us He knew Adam and Eve and what they would do. It reminds us that He, even though He knows us, even though we let Him down from time to time, He LOVES us more than our problems can separate us from Him. He knows just how much you will fail a lesson before you get it right, and He waits for that moment, leads you to it, and loves you through it all) 15 Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. 16 The wind blows, and we are gone— as though we had never been here. 17 But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children 18 of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments! (We have a very limited time on the earth, it is a time God only knows. Short, is our 70-80 years. But our salvation, Gods love.... These things are not temporary but permanent. Death is not final ending but transition to eternal life. However, you cannot cheat to return home. We must see the class through to the other end. And in this yields the LOVE the LIFE and eternal journey with God we are to take, as long as we believe, put our trust in the Lord, and live the best life we can according to His will). 19 The Lord has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything. (We are reminded that God was walking physically in the garden with Adam and Eve, but now is in Heavens.... a reminder of that time, our mistake, our humanness, but also a reminder that He is not seen but ever present). 20 Praise the Lord, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands. 21 Yes, praise the Lord, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will! 22 Praise the Lord, everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom. (This call for praise is for all, and everything that serves the Lord our God... simple but we forget sometimes to thank the Lord for all who help us get from start to end of our time here. Angels, they can be true angels, but an angel can be a person here and now. God uses regular people to be messengers, to guide us, and so on. We need to be thankful and praise all who do the will of God. And everything that He has created. All are for us and our success). Let all that I am praise the Lord. (This statement at the end sounds so simple, but look at all you are, you are a man or woman, boy or girl sure. But you are a friend, relative, son or daughter, mother or father, grandson or granddaughter, aunt or uncle, you are a friend, the things you do, your gifts and abilities, and a representative of the Lord. You are not just a speck of sand on a beach, but more like a part of the machine called life. For you effect so many and you have choice to be either a speaker of life or speaker of death into someones life.) You are more than you think...... YOU ARE VALUE Praise the Lord with all that you are, with your words, thoughts, actions, deeds, who you become, everything. Let others see Jesus in the way you live your life. Live loud, laugh much, and love with abandon.... M
