Word from Jevo....... We did it, I walked 10 miles and it only took me three hours and ten minutes, not bad for a dog who had a phantom (whatever that is) puppy during the night ! We were the first to arrive at the Puffing Billy starting point, and gradually other humans arrived too, but the organisers were late arriving and I was becoming restless! My human made a snap decision to set off rather than hang around any longer, so we said our goodbyes to the humans and one other dog there and set off at 9am prompt ! There were lots of humans on the Tarka Trail and coast path route today, and my human kept repeating the words good morning to them all, this got very tedious ! We went through tunnels and over bridges, passed pubs and even a train, we passed ships and boats and about 100 people on two wheeled contraptions. I have become quite skilled at avoiding being run over by those contraptions ! We saw a human fall off her contraption as she went into a tunnel, she forgot to take off her sunglasses, that was very funny ! My human kept offering me water, but I wanted to put my best paw forward and think of England, as I had been told by two other dogs, that this is the best way to cope on an expedition ! I did have one drink though, when the sun got very hot ! By the time we had got to the finishing point I was worn out, I thought it would never end ! I mustered up just enough energy to jump into the van which had come to collect us, and then I had a nice long drink of water and several of my favourite food things - digestive biscuits ! The ride home was very bumpy and all I wanted to do was sleep, but the bumps wouldnt let me. When I got home, my first job was to check my puppy was where I left it, then curl up and sleep ! THANK YOU EVERYBODY WHO SPONSORED ME, TOGETHER WE HAVE HELPED MILENA FEED AND CARE FOR MANY OTHER BOSNIAN DOGS, JUST LIKE ME !
