Word to the not so wise (as in if you think like me), its probably better to not entrust your safety to the judgement of others. I just was walking out of the pharmacy when a cement mixer pulls out in front. The driver jumps out and walks alongside me as I walk parallel to the truck (all the while I ignore my gut instinct to walk around the truck to avoid some type of accident). All of a sudden whamm!!! I feel something crash into my left trapezius and I kind of stumble a few feet from the force. The idiot lowered the steel half ladder (probably 25-40 lbs) while I was walking right next to him. He keeps asking me if Im all right and keeps pointing to the yellow tape cordoned off area, which I was not in at all, merely a foot away from it. I ask him if Im cut or bleeding and it doesnt look like it. I have full range of motion looks like I only have like two little cuts on my trapezius, though a few inches more would have meant definite skull bashing for me. Hopefully if something happens later there is security footage from the store front, but really Id rather have my somewhat good health. Lesson, dont walk close to construction or entrust anyone to look out for your well being. Other lesson, I went and bought a lottery ticket as I was a few inches away from a head injury or owning a construction company. ;)
