Words have being flying round the social media in the last 48hours that a team of online columnists and bloggers that were in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on the invitation of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for an on-the-spot assessment of his eight (8) year tenure were induced with the sum of N5,000,000.00K only to spread words that their host have done quite well for the state during his tenure that will end on the 29th of May 2015. While I must admit that issues like this are not new to the profession of journalism as it directly relates to politics and economic, I find it laughable that anyone in his right frame of mind will gather a bunch of young, educated and intelligent Nigerians into a hall with intentions to induce them with funds in a manner that will make them call black white. That the sum of N5,000,000.00K was given to each columnist or blogger as “brown envelop” is worth reacting to.
