Words of advice: If your other half starts making noises about wanting to learn woodworking dont discourage. Rather, steer them toward smaller projects. Bird houses, for instance. Small curio shelves. Napkin holders. Desk top accessories. Smaller sized projects, smaller sized tools that use normal power. Easier to organize in the limited space of a garage. Then you wont be called upon to hold this piece of board while he cuts it on the table saw. He wont need you to move his accessories from one side of the garage to the other. Or organize the wood stash. (Heres a vote for yarn stashes!!) The smaller the project (turn pen blanks!) the easier it is for the woodworker to work solo. Maybe, to get my point across, I should take him to the yarn shop and make him carry it all... Im pretty sure if I take his wood budget and apply it to yarn purchases, hed see the difference in weight and deadliness. Maybe I can teach him to knit instead...
