Words of encouragement: I slipped into our sunroom early this - TopicsExpress

Words of encouragement: I slipped into our sunroom early this morning for a few Susan minutes. I confess. I ate a bowl of Cocoa Puffs. I know. They are loaded with sugar, but hey, they tasted great and gave me comfort. They reminded me of a time when life was carefree; full of swinging, playing Barbies, and working on hitting the fastball better. Anyway, I looked at our prayer garden. It looks sad. It is cold, drab, and sad. What was once filled with a rainbow of colors and so many flowers, flowers, plants, and more flowers is now filled with winter. All of a sudden, a small flock of birds appeared and began singing. Christ has never left the prayer garden. I have learned many valuable things in my walk with Jesus. One of those things is that we must never allow our hearts to turn cold and drab during our trials and tribulations. If there is one thing that can melt the ice away from my heart, it is the love of Jesus Christ. His faithfulness to me proves over and over again the need to sing in my heart. When I am troubled, I sing...not in front of an audience, but in the presence of my King and Savior. The little birds have finished their songs and are now residing in someone elses trees. Dear loved ones, Christ never leaves us nor forsakes us. His eye is always on the sparrow. His heart is always wrapped around us. I can testify over and over again how His faithfulness and strength have been proven and given to me. Without it, I would never have had the courage to face each day and enjoy my bowl of Cocoa Puffs. Even something so simple can be a work of the Master. Even when the soil is cold, wet, and barren, the soul can be filled with warmth and joy. My prayer for you today and as we begin 2015 is for you to experience Christ in the simple pleasures of life and most importantly in the trials and tribulations you might face. May your 2015 be filled with blessings beyond measure and your hearts overcome with the Joy of Jesus. Christ bless you all and keep you all safe. By the way, on a lighter note. I am convinced that Cocoa Puffs is the breakfast of champions...Champions for Christ! (I am also convinced that Jesus is laughing over that statement. It sure beats locusts.)
