Words to My Unborn Son…….”A must read” Son, I thank the Lord for giving you as a wonderful gift to me. I want you to know that, I may not meet your every need as a parent but know this; I will try my best though I know that sometimes the best is not good enough. Son, I want you to know that in life we are faced with two choices or two paths you can choose to make History or make a difference. The choice is yours and the path you take will shape and determine your own destiny. Some of the choices you make maybe wrong and I admit in my life I also made some bad choices and good ones too, but always remember that your choice speaks for your voice in society and society fails because of wrong choices. Son, as you go through the society you will see and meet different people, some are rich and others are poor. But I want you to respect every citizen of this country no matter the status they strike you with, both abled and less abled including your own mates. There is no love where there is no respect; I want you to always remember this. I want you to be a brother’s keeper and a sister’s keeper, every Zambian is your relative and treat them as such let their problems be your problems even though they do not make your problem theirs, your love for this country should be beyond tribe after all no tribe has a different blood running in their veins and arteries .Meaning we are all the same. Nevertheless, you should choose your friends well. Son, this will be your only home on earth and it will always be called Zambia. Son, you should know that Zambia is derived from the River called Zambezi River whose source is in Kalene hills in North western province. In that area Zambi means God. So you see in a nutshell this is God’s land. The name is believed to have been coined by our four fathers the simon mwansa kapwepwe’s of that world. On another day I will tell you more of our forefathers and their struggle for our freedom. For now I want you to know that our fore fathers did not choose to make history they chose to make a difference. Son, Life is full of challenges and temptations too, but the most important thing is to know where you stand and where you want to go but always remember never to focus on your failures but on how to improve on your shortcomings and become a better person by working hard. Never give up ,I don’t know if I should tell and encourage you to be ambitious but that is the lessons you will learn in your journey through life. In everything carry God on your Side You can go to sleep but think about what I have told you and don’t tell your Mum.
