Work Situation: Currently we just hired 2 supervisors. An existing employee came to me and ask for assistance since I would be participating on this panel. I assisted her with her resume, I assisted her with filling out the online application. I also coached her with possible interview questions she would be asked. (A little back ground info upon investigation I found this person had a 5th grade reading level and is approx 50yrs old and drives a 2013 Mercedes, and 2012 BMW.....Ill come back to that later) Now due to her hard work ethic others as well as myself agreed she would be a good candidate despite her short comings. (Prior to this job posting, I offered to stay after work and read to and with her, and help her catch up by getting some educational material..........yeah......never showed up once) Anyway...... We had 2 very good applicants that had college degrees, and 15Yrs+ work experience supervising. They were both given the job. Now the original woman comes to work pissed, ranting about she is going to quit. How we are racist (both of us black though), liars, and sellouts. Now I have several comments about this: 1. One both of us are black 2. You have to want it for yourself 3. Stop playing the race card 4. You cant read, but you own two $50k plus cars, rent an apt, and have a different pair of shoes every week. 5. What exactly was I suppose to say in your defense as we are the only two black people in the room..........as I take 3 steps away from you.....Ill wait. Was I wrong?? #PRIORITIES!!! #BUTYOUMAD
