Work backwards from what you know as the final product to this early investigation into the creation of character, yes, I said it, character, building upon who and what you are to find and invent something new and more and original. Thats what you get to do, are required to do in the starring roles. All the things youre not allowed to do in an audition for a 5 and Under, the investigation, the searching, the time taken to experience the moment are exactly what you can and must do when you are playing the lead. Now, how are you going to get there unless you are diving into demanding roles, challenging roles, now, in class, every week?
