Work on the Market Street improvements is going to be suspended over the Christmas period to reduce disruption so heres a quick update on whats going to be happening in the coming weeks: * Work will finish on the current section ahead of this weekends lights switch on with Market Street then open until the New Year (note the northern part will be closed on Saturday for the event) * From Monday, the junction of Market Street and Gillibrand Street will be closed to traffic for improvement work to take place there - Market Street will be open with temporary traffic light control - this work will last two weeks * From Monday 1 December all work will be suspended until the New Year except in isolated footway areas to allow benches and other street furniture to be installed * Work will resume in January with the next stretch of Market Street to be closed for approximately 4-5 weeks We appreciate everyones patience while the work is being done - let us know what you think of the new look.
