Worked on this sculpture for several hours. Inspired by the formations of Kodachrome, I added an arch on the back and the hint of Sand Pipes, and other geological features. The title of the piece is Nine. The symbols in the sculpture are from the Book of Numbers as well as from religious symbols in art and architecture dating back 3000 years BC. Nine: Christ, Sacred Place, Sanctuary, The Ninth Degree, Cloud Nine, Endowed- ( to clothe) --- Dressed to the Nines Eleven: Joint Heirs with Christ / God, Also- Old Testament-New Testament, Husband and Wife, Two Become One, Matriarch / Patriach, Joshua in the Wilderness raising his hands in prayer. Arch: Triumph, Gate to Heaven, the Veil of the Bride, Veil of the Holy of Holies ( woman), entrance to the most sacred place Pillar: Sand Pipe - Man - Outer walls of the sanctuary, guardian of the gate, Soldier, Omnipotence of God, Temple Steps: Simple path to follow in order to receive more light and clearer, broader perspective. 1st Step: Beginning, Foundation, First Day of Creation 2nd Step: Light and Darkness understood, Second Day of Creation, Two or more gathered, there am I in the midst, Companionship 3rd Step: Holy Trinity or the Godhead, Triads, Reciprocity and balance between Body, Spirit and Intelligence, Third Day of Creation 4th Step: Fourth Day of Creation; Food and Nourishment, Trees, Balance, 4:4 is Justice : Mercy, Heaven and Earth, 4 brings balance to those injured by wicked judgment 5th or Five Steps: The Fifth day of Creation - Fish and Birds. --- Reminds us to Get out of the water, ( Come up out of the waters of baptism leaving behind sin, death, etc... dont be swallowed up in sin, death, despair, illness, or a like Jonah ---- swallowed by a whale... ) Become like a Bird, find peace, soar with Eagles, listen to the Spirit ( Dove ) and follow Christ ---- who is the fisherman who catches us in his net on the left side of the boat, and brings us into the safety of his ship, landing us on the right hand. ---- Five is also the mortal man represented by five fingers, five toes, five senses... When we put our hand ( five fingers) into the hand of God, we are now 10 and we are whole. 10 is also 1. We become one with God. Seventh Step --- Sabbath. Day of learning, Day to look back on the period of six that came before 7 and learn. Spiritual Gifts. Eighth Step - New Sabbath or Moon or Monday, Day of beginning a new start, New Birth Ninth Step - Kingdom of God, Heaven Cave - Birth or Rebirth, Protection, Womb, Sanctuary within the earth, Tomb Rock - Christ, Sure foundation
