Workers with Exceed Enterprises enjoy fast paced work environment at Coca-Cola plant Sorting, gunning, hammering and prying are tasks the Exceed Enterprises work crew performs everyday at the Coca-Cola plant in Wilsonville. The team achieves an important job by repairing pallets that Coca-Cola relies on to stock their product. Coca-Cola uses an average of 1,100 pallets a day. The work crew sorts an average of 900-1,000 pallets each day to determine if they are in good shape, junk or need repair. It is a fast moving and organized operation. One team inspects the pallets, marks defective boards and puts them in a certain pile. Another team repairs the pallets by prying off broken or defective boards and adding new boards using a hammer or nail gun. Pallets that don’t make the grade end up in the junk pile and are recycled. “I like the work we do here,” said Brad. “It is a work out and it is challenging and my muscles are getting stronger each day.” According to Google the average cost for a new wood pallet can range from $19 to $54 each. Those prices and the high cost of wood in general emphasize the importance of the work Exceed Enterprises performs at Coca-Cola. Replacing a pallet is one-fourth to one-third the cost of a new pallet. For the rest of the story visit exceedpdx
