Working at the Church while waiting for my daughter to return from a youth activity. Thought I would share this weeks parent devotional for my little preschoolers that I have on Sundays. Last week our children reviewed Paul’s journey to Damascus and the great change in his life. This week we will focus on Help from Jesus through our friends that also follow Christ. Think of the many times in Paul’s journey’s that other people risked their lives to keep him safe and or help him escape. Even on Paul’s journey to Damascus God sent Annanias to be with Paul. This week we will talk about Barnabas the son of encouragement. Think of the many different kinds of tough times in our lives that we must journey through. Many of those times we need help. Whether it is a big move, decision, death, or temptation the Lord will provide help be sending the exact kind of people we need at that time. Fellow believers risk their time, money, and sometimes their health and lives to help us and others know God’s love. We are called to do the same. Let’s call on the Lord and listen. Perhaps you are needing God to surround you with support today, or perhaps he is calling on you to help others. As one of our memory verses emphasized this year. Let us hear the words of the Lord and obey them. “ With love, help each other.” Adapted from Romans 12:10.
