Working on a summary for agents for one my novels, take a read and let me know what you think. A set of ears, eyes, a nose, hair and various other body parts are missing from many murdered and mutilated victims in Italy. The vicious serial killer calls himself ‘The New Michelangelo’. He leaves behind paper notes and engravings on the bodies which mock religion. After one single encounter at a Florence museum FBI Agent Katie Fields wants on the case. Katie and husband, Tom is in Italy for other reasons but Katie feels a personal connection to the ‘The New Michelangelo’. She becomes drawn and immersed in the case and even befriends the man she deems responsible. As she becomes closer to Bryan, her husband Tom begins to worry she is jumping to conclusions too early in the investigation. Katie gets very close to this man and he starts to trust and open up to her. Katie feels that she did her job and now she get him to confess to the murders. However, when Bryan randomly appears near the crime scene in Venice and realizes Katie lied to him about a number of things he gets angry. Katie is devastated and feels she lost her insight. However, a few days later Bryan, her new friend and possible murderer reconnects with her. Bryan wants to confide in Katie that an Italian police officer is blackmailing him to commit the murders. He accuses Katie and Tom’s friend, Augusto who is the head of the investigation of the murders. Katie and Tom are not sure what to believe as they get involved in the most complicated case in their careers. The many twists and turns have them rethinking their strategy. And even with their expertise the ending is not anything they anticipated. For these FBI veterans it’s not just a game of cat and mouse, but a game of David versus Goliath.
