Working on my Family Tree today and discovered some NEW data which explains why I have been so into the Tudor Family and King Henry the VIII. You see my 4th cousin 17 times removed, Elizabeth Throckmorton known as Bess was 1st Lady in Waiting to Queen Elizabeth 1st of England. Bess married THE Sir Walter A. Raleigh. Ive known this for years after the movie Elizabeth the Golden Years was released. Today I began poking around. Besss father was Sir Nicholas Throckmorton whose parents were Sir George Throckmorton and Anna Catherine Vaux (also spelled Katherine Vaux). Katherines parents were Sir Nicholas Vaux and Hon. Elizabeth Fitzhugh. Elizabeth Fitzhugh had previous been married to William Parr until his death. They had a son Sir Thomas Parr who would be half sister to Katherine Vaux who is Besss grandmother! This is where it gets interesting. Sir Thomas Parr married Maud Green. They had a daughter Catherine/Katherine Parr!!!! Yes! THE Catherine Parr ... 6th & last wife to King Henry Tudor VIII ... she being first ever Queen of both England & Ireland. She out lived Henry and was Queen until young King Edward was old enough to take over as King and she also looked over the raising of both Edward and the to be Queen Elizabeth the 1st. Queen Catherine would be half niece of my 2nd cousin 19 times removed making her husband King Henry VIII as husband to half niece of my 2nd cousin 19 times removed. This has been so exciting .... more to come!
