Working on some top ten lists today for the end of 2014. I have an idea that I hope will be pleasing and edifying for my friends and a testament of my appreciation for those who have been a constant source of affirmation here, in this space for me. Everyday I pray and reflect coming out of that prayer on the most important things facing me and my friends. Every day I listen (i.e. I am quiet, or I read, or I spend quality focused time listening to a person who has entrusted me with their concerns or pain or sorrow-tinged joys) And what I share on these pages is often the fruit of that prayer and trust and love. I often use the word profound in my statuses for this reason because the best of what I share here is literally from the depths of me and others who I hear as courageous and brilliant. I share it in the spirit of grace or generosity that is a core value of my grandmother, or I should say, my upbringing. I am so grateful for those of you who offer you affirmation and good company here. I will have a small token of that appreciation tomorrow morning. I have the best friends in the world! I love them. And this ritual of posting my thoughts is a celebration of that love and I hope it benefits people of goodwill, of hope, of love that stumble across these pages. Sincerely, Toby
