Working out is not easy to fit in the schedule, especially with - TopicsExpress

Working out is not easy to fit in the schedule, especially with kids, work, housework, etc etc etc. You have to plan it just like anything else. Sometimes I run at 4AM...My husband would get so mad at me for getting up at 3:40 to drive into town and run. It is not easy getting out of bed, its just as hard for me as anyone else. The only difference is, I want to run. I want to be fit. I want to live a long life and feel good about myself. I love the feeling of knowing I can wear anything I want without asking if my butt looks as big as Texas. Anyway, the funny thing is, Matt started training for a race, and he found on a few occasions the only way he could fit a run in was getting up very early. He did, and he was exhilarated. He couldnt believe how good it felt. He no longer gets mad at me if the alarm goes off at 3:40. I wont lie to you, it does suck getting out of bed that early and going out in the cold, but I am driven by how great I feel once I am out there, and also once I am done. Once I look up at that big black sky full of stars, breath in that crisp air, and get that blood pumping through my body, there is no better way to kick start my day. Endorphins are a happy drug, they are my life medicine. It is no less than exhilarating and that feeling carries through my whole day. Im not suggesting everyone get up at 3:40 to exercise. The point is, getting out there and getting started is not easy for any of us, even those of us that are very dedicated. I want to sleep in just like anyone else. I want to watch TV, or any other number of things. BUT, I know how much better I feel after I work out. I know how it changes my whole mindset for the rest of the day. So I pull myself out of bed, lie to myself how great I feel, brew some coffee, then hit the trail, and its all full speed ahead from there. Happy Tuesday, all! Make it FREAKING AWESOME!!!!
