Workshop 2: Animal rights: The animals rights means that animals have to viewed ans treated as persons, not as toys or as property. Animal have the same rights as an human being has, without suffering anytime or getting physicaly hurt. The idea of equaly was created on 70s with the term speciesism determined by Richard D. Ryder. After his statement, the abolitionist view is that animals have moral rights, which the pursuit of incremental reform may undermine by encouraging human beings to feel comfortable about using them. Another ideologist is Tom Regan, as a deontologist, argues that at least some animals are subjects-of-a-life, with beliefs, desires, memories, and a sense of their own future, who must be treated as ends in themselves, not as a means to an end. Peter Singer have a view to ending animal use entirely, or almost entirely. For example, using animals for food, clothing, research subjects, or entertainment, like hunting. Singers focus is not on moral rights, but on the argument that animals have interests, particularly an interest in not suffering and that there is no moral or logical reason not to award those interests equal consideration. Multiple cultural traditions around the world, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. Also support some forms of animal rights. Like in India that in their religion the cow is viewed as god. One of the most problems is that around the world we have different religions, and many of then use animals as rituals and have to sacrifice it to give their soul to their god. One of the biggest problem is that humans are in the top of the food chain, and has more power that any animal in the planet. Making humans treat animals like they are objects or that they are something to entertain them. So we have people all over the planet, killing as much animals they can for fun. Humans starts to run their own world, forcing animals to move from their houses because we want to live there. And with that they have to move to a new place, and most of the times they end up dying. And right now of the biggest problem that they are discussing, specially in Brazil, is that animals should not be testing fo science meaning anymore.
