REMARKS ON THE WATER FORUM By CEC Water, Energy, and natural resources Sereti Mpetti The core of the department is to coordinate, facilitate and monitor to ensure improved delivery and water sewerage services. On the same, we are mandated to preserve, Conserve and protect resources and allocate it in a sustainable, rational and economical way, as well as establishing an efficient and effective institutional framework to achieve a systematic development and management of the water sector And for us to achieve all this through cohesion and partnerships. Through this forum we shall be able to bring heads together as key players in the sector to coordinate the development and management of these water resources. Since the coming of County Government we have seen the confusion, Duplication and uncoordinated development of these resources. We have the NGOs, the National Government, the County Government, CDF and Governmental Parastatals developing the water infrastructure including boreholes, water pans, and also in the conservation of this resources. Today I hope that we shall be able to understand what the responsibilities we have ahead of us and also to be able to share what we are doing in the County so that we move in the same direction as the saying goes, together we stand strong and apart we fail. The purpose of this forum is to provide a platform for dialogue and engagement of critical stakeholders in the sector, to coordinate the attainment of policy goals and standards in the sector.
