Workshop on Civil Registration system held at Ramban RAMBAN, 26 OCTOBER, 2013: One day workshop on Civil Registration System was held here today under the chairmanship of Director General statistics and economics, Mr B R Lachotra at Maitra, Ramban. During the workshop the participating officials from health, Police, revenue and cooperative departments, besides Panchs and Sarpanchs were taught about the techniques of Civil Registration System. Director Family welfare, Dr Gandotra, CPO Parshotam Kumar, DIO Dr Ashwani Hansa, Additional Registrar Cooperatives addressed the participants. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Lachotra focused on the importance of Birth and Death registration and stressed upon the government functionaries to help the department in generating actual registration data as it helps in framing effective policies for the overall development of the state and nation especially in Health and nutrition sectors. He also laid emphasis for giving due importance on the registration system in the district. Dr. Gandotra also impressed upon the public representatives to aware the public about the importance of the civil registration at different levels in their life and asked the officers to impart the training to all stakeholders of the programme so that the targets will be achieved with in time.
