World Coal News Friday, 14 November 14 U.S. Weekly Coal Output Slips Slightly Week Ending November 08 According to EIA latest report, United States as the worlds second largest coal manufacturer produced about 18.9 million short tons (mmst) of coal in a week (For the week ended October 18, 2014). This production rate shows a 0.6% decrease than last week and 0.3% increase than same week of 2013.According to Nov 13 EIAs report annual US coal production is 848.8 mmst which shows 0.1% increase than 2013. The total coal production of East of the Mississippi River is 7.6 mmst (Up 1.33% week on week) and west of the Mississippi River is 11.3 mmst (Down 1.73% week on week). Total coal production in Oct 2014 is about 85.6 million short tons of coal which shows 5.6 % increase than the same month in 2013 and 2.88% increase on monthly basis.
