World Earth Day observed MU NEWS/IMPHAL, April 22 : Yes Bank Imphal Branch has today observed the World Earth Day as part of Yes Community event for the month of April at the Yes Bank office complex at Thangal bazaar in Imphal.Associate Professor Dr L Sanjay Meetei of Environment science department of DM College of Science delivered as resource person in the days program. A tree can supply daily oxygen requirement of a 4-member family while it can absorbed carbon dioxide produced by a car after driving 11,000 miles in a year, says Dr Sanjay. So it is very important to plant trees to save the mother earth. We are facing a global warming due to excess carbon dioxide, he observed. The level of atmospheric carbon dioxide has cross 391 parts per million (PPM) which is against the permissible limit of 320PPM. We are living in a very alarming situation so we need to grow more plants to save the earth, he added. Describing the program, an official of the Yes bank said that the bank will organize such kind of community event every month on different fields or issues.
