World Refugee Day Community Festival The festival brings together Brisbane’s refugee communities and the wider community in a wonderful celebration of the many ways that refugees continue to enrich this vibrant city. An endless array of delicious foods are on offer, along with an action-packed entertainment program including a citizenship ceremony, traditional and contemporary music and dance, arts and crafts, fashion parades, live cooking demonstrations, theatre, football and volleyball tournaments, and more. Date: Sunday, 23rd June 2013 Time: 9am-5pm Venue: Annerley Soccer Club Fields - Ridge and Juliette Streets Annerley Cost: FREE There are free bus shuttles to and from the festival throughout the day, operating from Zillmere, Lutwyche, Chermside, Acacia Ridge, Inala and Carole Park. The festival is presented by the Multicultural Development Association and supported by Brisbane City Council. It is part of Refugee Week (16-22 June) and World Refugee Day (20 June) celebrations.
