World Vision International in Georgia is announcing an opening for the position of Disability Inclusion Project Intern. Job Reference Number: WVG-Disability Project Intern Department: Operations Location: Tbilisi with national travel Employment status: Internship agreement Benefits: Internship Allowance Closing date: October 2, 2014. World Vision International, one of the worlds largest NGOs, operates in more than 100 countries. It is an international relief, development and advocacy NGO dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. World Vision is implementing 2-year project Caucasus Sub-regional Social Inclusion of Children with Disabilities aiming that Children with disabilities are fully integrated into their communities. Series of interventions are planned in the target communities, schools and day centers, including extensive work with children, parents, teachers and municipal government. Purpose of the position: The Intern will be responsible to provide administrative and program assistance to the project. He/she will be involved in office work and field activities. The Intern will report directly to Disability Inclusion Officer and will closely work with the rest NO staff. During the office activities Intern will be engaged with Finance and Administration Officer and in the field with Field Operations Manager, Community Mobilizers and Sponsorship program staff. Intern will not have any supervisory duties. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: ** Assist project manager and link worker to conduct all the activities under the project, including trainings, workshops, meetings, student exchange, etc; ** Attend regular staff meetings, review the meeting notes and make respective arrangements for planning, when applicable ** Be responsible for documentation (soft/hard) update as needed ** Assist program officers with paperwork, translation, filing, daily communications upon need ** Communicate and interact with community members and community groups under supervision of respective team of the Field office. Required qualifications: ** Undergraduate degree or last course student in social sciences, development, or any related field ** Excellent communication, interpersonal skills; ** Excellent verbal and written Georgian; ** Excellent verbal and written English, ** Computer literacy (typing in English and Georgian) ** Self-disciplined with good time management skills ** Analytical aptitude and attention to details ** Strong advocate for children (including children with disabilities) ** Collaborative and hospitable ** Cross-cultural sensitivity, adaptability and flexibility ** Honesty and commitment to World Vision principles ** Ability to work independently as well as in a team ** Detail orientation and accurate in planning ** Experience of dealing with wide range of documents; filing; databases is highly preferred ** Willing and able to travel within the program area (Samtskhe-Javakheti, Imereti, Kakheti, Tbilisi).
