World War Z is a 2013 apocalyptic film directed by Marc Forster. The screenplay by Matthew Michael Carnahan is loosely based on the 2006 novel of the same name by Max Brooks. The film stars a rather good looking actor (I’m sure you already know who he is) as Gerry Lane, a former United Nations investigator who must travel the world to find a way to stop a zombie-like pandemic. PlotLines: Life for former United Nations investigator Gerry Lane and his family seems content. Suddenly, the world is plagued by a mysterious infection turning whole human populations into rampaging mindless zombies. Gerry Lane, his wife Karin and their two daughters, Rachel and Constance, sit in heavy Philadelphia traffic when the city is attacked by hordes of zombies. As the chaos spreads, the Lanes escape the city in a stolen RV and arrive at Newark, New Jersey. After stocking up on asthma medicine for Rachel at a chaotic city pharmacy, they take refuge in an apartment unit, home to another couple with a young boy named Tommy. Deputy Secretary-General Thierry Umutoni an old friend of Gerry’s—calls and tells the family that he is sending a helicopter to rescue them.
