World is waiting for Justice and Justice is waiting for Imam Mahdi (A.S.) 9th Zilhaj...... The Martyrdom of HAZRAT MUSLIM BIN AQEEL (a.s) .... Emissary of Imam Hussain (as) in Kufa... Historical Letter of IMAM HUSSAIN (a.s) to Hazrat Muslim Bin Aqeel (a.s) He was also Imams cousin, Son of Hazrat AQEEL IBN-E-ABI TALIB (a.s) & First cousin of Prophet MUHAMMED (s.a.w.w). After receiving so many petitions and messages from Kufa, Imam Hussain (as) decided to send Hazrat Muslim (as), who was a famous warrior, as his emissary to Kufa to study the situation there and report to Imam (a.s). Imam Hussain (a.s) sayings about Hazrat Muslim Bin Aqeel’s (a.s) Bravery Trust and Loyalty : He wrote a letter to the people of Kufa and gave it to Hazrat Muslim a.s. In this letter Imam Hussain (a.s) said: “I am sending my cousin and one of the most trusted ones from my family, Muslim bin Aqeel, to report to me about your affairs. If his report agrees with what you have written I will soon be with you. You must be clear of the fact that the Imam is only one who follows the book of Allah, and serves Allah in all matters and affairs with justice, honesty and truth.” Imam also said to Muslim bin Aqeel (as): “Muslim, the whole world knows that you are one of the bravest warriors. It is just possible that seeing you in Kufa some people may think that our intention is to fight Yazid. Take your two sons Muhammad and Ibrahim a.s with you. When they see you with such young children, they will know that our intentions are peaceful.” MUSLIM BIN AQEEL’S (A.S) REPLY TO UBAYDULLAH BIN ZIYAD (L.A): “O transgressor! What relation you hold with these? And why did you not do that among the people, while you were busy drinking wine (Allāh’s refuge) in Madinā”? Muslim replied, “Did I drink wine? By Allāh! He knows that you are not speaking the truth, nor am I similar to what you have ascribed to me. While drinking wine is a practice of those (referring to Ubaydullāh and his father Ziyād) who in rage and enmity spill the blood of the Muslims, and who rejoices and delights as if he has never ever committed any indecency (referred to Yazid).” Ubaydullāh was infuriated and said, “May Allāh kill me if I do not kill you in a manner as no one else has ever been killed in Islām.” Muslim ( a.s)replied, “It is befitting you that you introduce such innovations in Islām which have never taken place. You are an evil murderer, wicked chastiser, ill natured, and a degraded person than all those who preceded you.” Then Ubaydullāh started abusing him, Imām Husayn (a.s.), Imām Ali (a.s.) and Hazrat Aqeel (a.s.) while Muslim did not speak to him. MARTYRDOM OF MUSLIM (a.s.)شھادت مسلم ابن ع After his arrest, Ibne Ziyad told Hazrat Muslim (as) that he would be killed and asked him if he had any last wishes. Hazrat Muslim said: “I owe a debt which should be discharged by selling off my sword and armor. Secondly I want my body to be given a proper burial. Thirdly I want a message sent to Imam Hussain (as) advising him not to come to Kufa.” Ibne Ziyad agreed to the first request refusing the last two. He then ordered Hazrat Muslim (as) to be taken to the roof of the palace to be executed and his body thrown to the ground.
