World leaders will gather in Bahrain today to discuss some of the biggest security challenges facing the Middle East. They are attending the 10th Regional Security Summit: The Manama Dialogue 2014 organised by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain, Hotel and Spa. It runs until Sunday and around 400 participants, including government ministers, security chiefs, analysts and experts from around the globe, are attending. Delegates will discuss efforts to counter extremism in the region and conflicts in Iraq and Syria as well as negotiations on Irans nuclear programme. The UK will have the largest delegation in attendance headed by Foreign Affairs Secretary Philip Hammond, also including Defence Secretary Michael Fallon and chief of defence staff General Sir Nick Houghton.
