World renowned primatologist and conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall spoke to a capacity crowd at BucknellU yesterday evening, recounting her groundbreaking chimpanzee field research, the creation of Roots & Shoots, and her reasons for hope that humans ultimately will adopt the sustainable lifestyles critical to saving our planet. During her presentation, Dr. Goodall expressed her concern about the survival of rhinos. She asked the audience to do whatever is needed to save these magnificent creatures, and also took a little time to pose with the International Rhino Foundations Sumatran rhino mascot. Experts believe that no more than 100 Sumatran rhinos survive in the rain forests of Indonesia, where Rhino Protection Units help keep them safe from poachers.
