We are situated at the base of the North Downs, approximately half way between London and Dover. Thus we are in an ideal postion if you are coming to England or going to Europe, or, if you just want to explore the lovely County of Kent which is known as the "Garden of England". Kent boasts many Historic Houses, Castles, Ancient Monuments and beautiful Gardens. Leeds Castle, the "Loveliest Castle in the World" as quoted by King Henry the VIII, is a few minutes drive away or, if you are feeling energetic, you can walk there. Chatham Historic Dockyard, Dickens World Centre and the ancient City of Rochester with its Castle, Cathedral, Museums and attractive old high street are about 11 miles away. Whitstable is an old Fishing Port and a charming old coastal town famous for its Oysters and Fish Restaurants. The City of Canterbury with its famous Cathedral, ancient City Walls and attractive town with a thriving shopping centre and large modern Theatre is also within easy reach by car or train. The old Cinque Port of Tenterden is an attractive small town on the edge of Romney marsh, where you can take a ride on a Steam Train to Bodiam Castle on the restored Railway. Rye is an almost perfectly preserved Medieval Town which is no museum but is a living and thriving Town near Camber Sands. Camber has an extensive sandy beach bordered by sand dunes. The Georgian Spa Town of Royal Tunbridge Wells and the wonderful gardens at Sissinghurst are also worth a visit. The places mentioned here are just a few of the many attractions Kent has to offer. En-route to all of them you will pass through lovely countryside and pretty villages.
