Worldly pastors and leaders (hearts entrenched in idolatry of mammon and pleasure) WILL call you religious and blind when you dont follow them. Look what they told Moses in the Desert, Will you put out the eyes of these men? (Numbers 16:14). Hence they were claiming to have spiritual vision and claiming Moses was the blind one. They were ready to select a leader and go back to worldliness. These men do not want to live a life of affliction or persecution that the Bible calls us to. They live in carnal and lustful pleasure rather than seeking the true spiritual pleasure of the Holy Spirit (please read the warnings given to us about Babylon in Isaiah 47:8-9 and Revelation 18:11-14. Also read about Gods true pleasure in Psalms 16:11). The Bible claims the way of salvation is a narrow path and FEW will find it (Matt 7:13-14). Most people will reject where God leads them in the beginning prior to receiving His promise (trudging through the wilderness, turning away from idols) because theres no worldliness there, only a life submitted to Gods Spirit. Remember, Jesus didnt just die on the cross for you, He also denied Himself and fasted in the Desert (a pretty good stretch) for you to lead you in the way of truth and be an example for you to follow.
