Worry, Suffering, Troubles & Endurance by Rae Zellous WORRY: In Mat 6:25-34 Jesus teaches about worry. He tells us not to worry about everyday life. He explains how the devil uses our worries to control our thoughts. His goal is to destroy our faith and create the doubt that separates the unbeliever from the truth of his Word. The Heavenly Father values us and tells us to seek the Kingdom above all else. In doing so we should live righteously and when we live righteously he will give us everything we need. SUFFERING: But everything comes with a price, to have eternal life you must believe that Jesus die for us, you must have faith. We have to bear the cross and partake in the suffering. Jesus explained that he would be betrayed. sentenced to die, mocked, spit on, flogged and killed. But because he was fulfilling the will of God, after three days, He rose again! See Mark 10:32-34 The Apostle Paul explained how he suffered he said, Ive been put in prison, whipped, faced death again and again, beaten with rods, stoned, shipwrecked, spent a whole night and day adrift at sea, traveled long journeys, face danger from his own people and faced danger FROM THOSE THAT CLAIM TO BE BELIEVERS but are not. I have been hungry and thirsty and have gone without food. I have shivered in the cold, without enough clothing to keep me warm. When we except Christ as our Lord and Savior some of us believe that the struggle is over when in fact the war just begins. A Spiritual warfare that goes on spiritually. Like the Angels and Satan fought over Moses body, Satan fights to win you over and discredit your belief and faith. To be free from the devil we have to let go of our corrupt way of thinking and let the Spirit control our thoughts. Following Christ you have to remain faithful even though it means that we will endure great suffering. There will be times that we will be times we will be exposed to public ridicule but we must continue to help others who are suffering the same things. Suffer along with those who are thrown in jail, and when all you owned is taken away, accept it with joy. Never complain, accept your dilemma with joy. Believe that God has better things waiting ahead of you that will last forever. As was the situation with Jesus Christ, he know that in order for him to rise again, he had to go through the suffering of dying first. So dont throw away the confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it will bring you after your suffering. With Patient endurance and continuing to do Gods will. You will receive all that he has promised.-Heb 10:31-36 For instance, you know about Job, a man of great endurance. You can see how the Lord was kind to him in the end.-James 5:11 Troubles: God comforts us in all of our troubles so that we can comfort others. So when we are troubled, we will be able to give them the comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with comfort through Christ. Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! So be confident that as you share in suffering, you will also share in the comfort God gives us. When knowing about trouble, we have to be prepared to be CRUSHED and OVERWHELMED BEYOND ARE ABILITY TO ENDURE, and we often believe that we will never live through it. In fact, we expect to die. Buts as a result, we must STOP RELYING ON OURSELVES AND LEARN TO RELY ON GOD, who raises dead. It is he that will rescue us from mortal danger. When we have confidence in him, he will continue to rescue us. We help each other by praying for one another. As a result many people will give thanks to God because he graciously answers our prayers for our safety. See 2 Cor 1:3-11 ENDURANCE: As far as endurance, when we run into problems and trials, we should not worry, but we should rejoice, and be confident that they will develop endurance. And endurance develops strength in of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with love.-Rom 5:3-5 Amen...Bro Rae Zellous
