Worry and anxiety are the number one reason we do not sleep well at night. Get rid of that, and most people, barring a medical problem, will sleep like a baby. How in the world can you get your mind to slow down and stop? Replaying the difficult events of the day or week while trying to sleep is a recipe for a rotten next day. Doctors will give you pills to knock you out but is that always the best way to handle the situation? Pills have side affects but God does not. Pills are a temporary fix but God is permanent. Pills can become addictive; even become an idol in your life. Oftentimes, (but not always), not being able to sleep at night is a spiritual issue with a spiritual (and not man-made) answer. Try God. Pray and ask Him to forgive you of your sins of the day. Pray and ask Him to help you trust Him more and worry less. Then sing praise songs to Him. Pretend you are in heaven and worshipping Him. It will be a battle between doing this and being anxious. Do not give up! Give this a try and see what happens! And remember, if it does not work one time, do not blame God or me. Keep working on those worries; giving them over to God. When you have conquered that beast, you will sleep like a beauty!
