Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength. - Corrie Ten Boom Im an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened. - Mark Twain Worry is a misuse of the imagination - Dan Zedra Today I wrote a story that happened to me a while back on how Gods grace can cover your mistakes. When I tell that story, I usually get some believers who get a little ticked off or they get worried about it. And one of the reasons is, they have a hard time understanding grace. They typically are very justice conscious, because of what they were raised in. In their world, justice has to be served, mistake or no mistake. Sometimes with them its hard to receive grace, and hard for them to give it out to others. Overall, they can be too afraid of making mistakes and they become little perfectionists. If we could simply change our thinking and be more conscious of the Lord through our day and delight ourselves in Him, it can serve as the mistake fixer. When we try not to screw up, and make that our everyday focus, we screw up more. When we make Jesus our complete focus and we delight ourselves in Him, not only do we screw up less, He takes care of your mistakes. This is what makes Christianity what it is. Its the favor of God on our life. If we live everyday enjoying God, it opens Him up to lavish His grace on you because youre no longer blocking it by trying to control everything. Now, Im not saying that you throw caution into the wind and say I dont need to be careful because God is going to fix everything. Please dont misunderstand me. Im referring to the idea of us worrying so much about us making mistakes. When you make a mistake, obviously you didnt intend to do that, which is why it was a mistake. Rest in the grace of God and trust in Him to sort out the issue. Worrying will get you nowhere, but down. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. - Jesus
