Advent Preparation (1 minute) Proverbs 23 Pray for Church and Lives (3 minutes) During our “Big Questions” study Sunday we took an up close look at the reliability of the Bible. We discovered why the fulfilled prophecies, unity, historical/archaeological evidence, in addition to the testimony of Jesus, lay a thick foundation for our Christian faith. Pray this week that FHBC would grow in deeper reliance upon the Bible. Pray that we would have an insatiable desire to know it and apply it to our life. Pray this week for our ongoing work in Haiti. Pastor Brian resumed teaching Pastors in Haiti last Saturday (3rd &4th of each month). Several people are preparing to head back there this summer to minister to the people of Cap-Haitien. Pray for our efforts to make an eternal impact upon the people. Pray for financial and additional resources that will be needed to continue our efforts. Local: Super Bowl – numerous churches across our area are planning various types of outreach opportunities for the Super Bowl next week. Pray today for their preparation. Pray that over the next week they will gain the resources needed to use this sporting event to share the gospel. Country- The Americas (Trends to Watch) - The rise of anti-Christian secularism and aggressive atheism that seeks to marginalize the Church through control of the media and legislation. The increasing imposition of secularism upon civic, academic and political life, and the growing stridence of atheist apologists, disguise a specific disdain or even hatred for Christianity. The watchword of tolerance is exercised through multiculturalism and pluralism, but not extended to those who wish to practice their Christian faith in the public sphere.
