Worship Time ~ November 10, 2013 Micah 4:3 ~ “they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more” (NRSV) “Let There Be Peace On Earth” (Written by Sy Miller and Jill Jackson, 1955) Let there be peace on earth And let it begin with me. Let there be peace on earth The peace that was meant to be. With God as our Father Brothers all are we. Let me walk with my brother In perfect harmony. Let peace begin with me, Let this be the moment now. With evry step I take Let this be my solemn vow; To take each moment and live Each moment in peace eternally. Let there be peace on earth And let it begin with me. Psalm 133 (BAS) 1 Oh, how good and pleasant it is, when brethren live together in unity! 2 It is like fine oil upon the head that runs down upon the beard, 3 Upon the beard of Aaron, and runs down upon the collar of his robe. 4 It is like the dew of Hermon that falls upon the hills of Zion. 5 For there the Lord has ordained the blessing: life for evermore. Creator of the universe, from whom all things come, to whom all things return, give your people such unity of heart and mind, that all the world may grow in the life of your eternal kingdom, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen If we had a fraction of the faith in you that you have in us Then this world would be transformed, Lord. If we showed a fraction of the love that you show to us Then this world would be transformed, Lord If we possessed a fraction of the patience that you display with us Then this world would be transformed, Lord. If we shared just a portion of the blessings that we have received from you Then this world would be transformed, Lord. If we showed as much trust in others as you have shown in us Then this world would be transformed, Lord. If we claimed just a fraction of the power you promised to your Church Then this world would be transformed, Lord. Transform us first, Lord, that we might transform this world Through your love and your power. faithandworship/prayers_peace.htm#ixzz2jQQjEPxd Under Creative Commons License: Attribution The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. O God, bring our nation and all nations to a sense of justice and equity, that poverty, oppression, and violence may vanish and all may know peace and plenty. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
