Worst. Brother. Ever. that he is (according to the cover of the recent Grid), Doug Ford jumped in and answered for his brother when Peter Mansbridge asked him and what was the turning point [that triggered what you just now referred to as your recent Come To Jesus moment of clarity]? Jim, probably. says Doug! Yeah, probably [friend since yay-high Federal Finance Minister] Jim [Flaherty], but you cant let your brother answer that super-personal question himself??? Just a horrible symptom of his character. And the only reason he hasnt been tossed out of council a dozen or more times this year is because Speaker Nunziata is mostly a total wimp, always letting him have his say before even a 1st warning (about talking out of turn), and then only when other councillors twist her arm. Every other parliament Ive seen, when the speaker asks you to apologize/retract a comment, theyre not asking -- its an order, and no one believes the apologies are sincere anyway so everyone always immediately obeys! NOT DOUG!! Hes asked to apologize and instead rambles about double standards as if he has ANY right to protest her decision , and she always indulges it! Hes in near constant contempt of council, yet emerges barely scolded. But his contempt for Torontonians is much much worse. My least favourite Rob&Doug story comes from their first radio show after the crack video story first broke, when someone snuck through their screeners to ask what he was doing with those people in that photo, and Doug (obviously aware and pissed that she must have lied about her Q to get on the air) accuses her of being a racist for questioning why Rob should have his arm around a couple of black guys... And Rob, instead of being the Mayor and scolding his brother for that wild, insane, contemptuous accusation ... he goes along with big bro and agrees shes racist. THE WORST!!!
