Worth Thinking About It! #worththinkingaboutit LET US ASK A DISCIPLE! DISCIPLESHIP WITH BRO. PETER-THE ROCK! Bro. Christiantoday: Hello Brother Peter! You were the first to be chosen; why did you agree to go with Jesus? Peter: Thank you and hello. I see that you mean business with your questions. First, Yes I was not the first to be chosen in the sense that you would have believed. Andrew my brother was the one who found Jesus Christ. Andrew has always been eager to know Gods plan for Israel and he was always attending revival programmes by Prophet John in the wilderness. One day he came back to tell me that he had found the Messiah and took me to him. Bro. Christiantoday: So you were not the first to be chosen? Peter: Not really, my choice as a disciple was because of the pursuit of my brother Andrew. Remember in Luke 5:5 I called Jesus Christ -Master. I came to know him because Andrew brought me to Him and that can be found in John 1:41-42. Bro. Christiantoday: No wonder you were able to follow Him just like that? Peter: No it wasnt just like that- He came to pick me Himself after we have had a previous encounter. Jesus will never send you out unless you have first met with Him. He prayed all night before He even chose us to be His Apostles. Bro. Christiantoday: Anyway you guys were rich and prosperous and that is a good reason to pick you. I also remember how boldly you preached on the day of the Pentecost experience. Peter: Ha! Do not be deceived, yes we were wealthy and I also had my mother inlaw live with me which means I had enough room to spare, you know with mother in law palaver.Laugh! We were okay but the first time Jesus Christ saw me, He called me the ROCK. I can assure you I am not close to a rock either in formation or ability. After Andrew took me to Jesus Christ I returned to my business and again after Jesus death, I still went back to my business. I am not the type that will completely trust anyone not even a man from Galilee. Dont you know Galileans, we are generally called trouble makers (Acts 5:37). And what happened on the day of Pentecost was divine...who could believe a weakling like me could preach like that if not for the Holy Spirit. I was always very calculative of what and how people will think of me but that day changed everything. Bro. Christiantoday: SO you are saying wealth, charisma etc were not the criterias for Jesus choice? In my Church we must look and speak nice. Peter: Bro Paul, you may need to talk to Him too, gave the a perfect description of Jesus criterias. 1 Cor. 1:26-31 says; Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” So check yourself. Bro. Christiantoday: so you are saying; 1. Not many wise by human standard or have many high degrees to tender 2. Not many had political fathers and contacts 3. Not many were Princes and Princes from aristocratic families and God chose the simple method of 1. Using foolish things to shame the wise 2. Weak things to shame the strong 3. Lowly/despised things to nullify the things that are. Just to achieve this: EVERYONE CAN BOAST ONLY IN THE LORD. Peter: So you see that all you need is to be known by the Lord and to be known in Him. Nothing else will be necessary outside of all that He gives and makes you to be. Moses was a stammerer but a mighty tool when submitted and can only boast in the Lord. Bro. Christiantoday: Thank you sir. I hope I can just give Him everything I am. I will speak with Paul too but I must interview other disciples too. Thank you again. Shalom to the Israel of God.
