Worthy of praise- #baptistforthewordandintheword Worthy of praise for the pursuit of truth and righteousness are the Youths of Ebenezer Baptist Church. I am sure even the TRUTH would be proud of your stand for truth and righteousness(3 John 1:12). You choice to stop the continuation of commercial Christianity is exemplary. You spoke up against the Church selling water to a needy community and I hope that soon the Church will be seen by the rest of the community as an oasis in Okelerin, Ogbomoso. This is the beginning of the revival of truth. The Church is the one stop source for the needy World and not a den of robbers.. God Bless you and keep you in truth. People have sent list of Churches in my home-town doing the same- selling water to the community and turning the front of their Churches to a business centre but I have refused to mention any other Church apart from my home Church and my wifes church- Odo-oru baptist Church in my earlier post because I cannot begin to remove the speck from the eyes of my brothers when I have a log in mine. Yes- my grandfather together with some others started Ebenezer Baptist church, Okelerin and so my attachment to this House of God is vital and I hope what the youths of Ebenezer have begun will motivate others to follow suit. So what is wrong with the Church selling water to a community without water? Everything. It contradicts the very essence of the Gospel of Christ. It contradicts the message of care and concern the Church has. If the money raised is used to sponsor a missionary and I can assure you there are missionaries working for the Baptist denomination that are suffering, there may even be a reason to defend this commercialization of the temple but no it is to raise fund for the church. To what end, I do not know and nobody seems to know. I have seen a Church hold a revival programme in the evening and there were people queueing right in-front of the Church to buy water and a revival programme was going on in the Church. I know Jesus would not bother to beat them out of the service but may even close down that Church. A young girl told me; a mosque opposite gives water to people for free but ours sell to us and the woman in charge does her job amidst a rain of abuses and curses upon those trying to buy water right in front of the Church So again commendation goes to the Youth of Ebenezer baptist Church, Okelerin, Ogbomoso. Keep the faith and stand only for righteousness. I hope those who think this direct contact with the pew isnt making changes will have a rethink. Shalom!
