Would He Pick You? Jeremiah 35 v.13b – “Will you not learn a lesson and obey my words?” declares the Lord. (NIV) In the passage, God sends Jeremiah to this family that has been following the commands their long dead relative gave to them on how to live. For generations this family has never strayed away from what they were commanded to do; not a single person in the whole family for decades has broken the rules given to them. God sent Jeremiah here to see an example of what He wanted His people to be like. For years God had given commands on how to live, yet His people continually failed to follow the rules. Now while our relationship with God isn’t based off our strict following of the rules, let’s look at it this way. If God was to pick someone out as the prime example of what a disciple for Him would look like, would, or even could, He pick you? Does your life reflect how God designed a Christian and disciple to look like and act like? One that loves his brother, one that is fearless of the evil one, one that is worriless, and one that has the fruit of the spirit overflowing out of them….someone that looks like Christ Himself. Like I stated before, our relationship with God isn’t all about the rules, but God does want us striving to be like Him. He also wants to use us so show the world what a life with Him is all about. Would He pick you for that task? Prayer for the Day – Dead Lord, help my life to be like you. I want you to use me for your glory, so please direct me on how my life can become more like you. I love you Lord, Amen.
