Would I consider it the end of the world if Jeb Bush were to - TopicsExpress

Would I consider it the end of the world if Jeb Bush were to become the next US President? No. He seems markedly smarter than his criminally shallow older brother, and a whole lot more decent and, indeed, compassionate, on a purely human level, than the latter aged frat boy. Would it make me happy, though, if actually he were to end up being elected? No. That outcome, in my opinion, would mean at least four wasted years, with regard to the massive and fairly intractable problems urgently facing the country at this time, because I dont believe the radically conservative, backward-bound cast of the Republican Party in its present incarnation offers much chance of any credible solutions for the future to result from the Partys determined pining for the past. Is there any potential candidate that, to my mind, could indeed start addressing in a pointed manner the fact of the USs political system being at present practically unworkable and no longer fully democratic, clogged up to the hilt as it happens to be with corporate money? Sen. Elizabeth Warren. (The lovable firebrand Bernie Sanders might not even carry his own state of Vermont, in the race for the nomination.) Is she likely to challenge Hillary Clinton -- whose putative presidency, though greatly important from the historically symbolic perspective, would only be marginally more beneficial to the country, in any practical terms, than Jeb Bushs? She might. Does she stand much chance at present, of defeating Hillary Clinton? Admittedly, she does not. My two-cents worth.
