Would You Stay by the Average White Band (AWB) was the B-side of Queen of My Soul, which reached #40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart the first week of September 1976. This is a slow burn, ultra-ultra-brassy one -- AWBs best turn at jazz (plus some blues), with assistance from the Brecker Brothers, tradeoff lead vocals by Alan Gorrie and Hamish Stuart, and sax solo by Roger Ball. Also fine, restrained drums by Steve Ferrone. From the album Soul Searching, released in June 1976. Incendiary! youtube/watch?v=WM5z93G8pwE
