Would it be great in life, if you could pick your opponents? This - TopicsExpress

Would it be great in life, if you could pick your opponents? This weekend at the Marriott of Anaheim, the National Association of Hispanic Journalist held its annual conference. One interesting paneled discussion on Latinos and Politics was to be moderated by actress/activist Eva Longoria with Anaheim Democratic Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, California Democratic State Assembly Speaker, John Perez and state Republican strategist Hector Barajas. Hector Barajas, a former assistant to Anaheim Republican State Senator Bob Huff was reportedly invited by the California Speaker and then dismissed from the panel when he arrived. What gives everybody thought? The Assembly Speakers office mentioned that Hector Barajas was not an elected official but the question is then why did it take them so long for the Speakers staffers to figure that out. D-OH! Perhaps the real answer on who wanted to remove a well verse, articulate member of the panel and be allowed to rein on as the partisan "political bully" might be found in the Facebook comment by San Francisco Chronicle Editorial page editor, Jeff Diaz. "I was at that session, and I was, if anything, struck by the Speaker’s graciousness toward Republicans. He went out of his way to talk about how Republicans provided votes on his middle-class tuition break and singled out some of the CA Republican electeds in the Legislature and in Congress who have supported immigration reform. Rep. Loretta Sanchez, by contrast, was aggressively partisan in her anecdotes and the way she framed issues." What a winner!
