Would like to share my terrible experience with @AirFrance - TopicsExpress

Would like to share my terrible experience with @AirFrance (Anti-Semetic Airline) on my last vacation to Val Thorens. Didnt believe I got this service! My journey began in Tel Aviv on March 6, 2014. I arrived in the terminal to discover that my flight was ticketed with no luggage. Upon showing the desk manager how my reservation looked like, and how my ticket has no mention of luggage (but rather the site linked you to AF website which just mentions the allowance being one bag,) I was told that I will not have to pay for any of the additional baggage (including snowboard.) After a long and enjoyable vacation, I had arrived at Lyon Airport. Due to issues with our car rental, I had arrived about 45 minutes before the flight. I arrived at the check-in desk, there I was told that I needed to pay 100 Euro for my luggage (nearly half the price of the whole two way ticket.) I calmly tried to explain, as I had explained in Tel Aviv, however, I was told that they dont care what I was told in Tel Aviv and that I must pay for my luggage-- in a very demanding and rude manner. This was told by a manager named Francesh Laurent. I asked if I could call the Tel Aviv office myself-- and was encouraged to do so. After calling and being on hold for a while (standing in front of the check-in desk,) I had decided to give up, go pay, and deal with it later. Shockingly, as I return to the desk (which I had been in front of the whole time,) I was told that it was too late and that my flight is no longer boarding. I immediately asked to speak to a manager to see how to settle this. I was then approached by Mrs. Poudeuicewe, a very rude lady who had came to me after already discussing the matter with her coworkers, and approached me in a way as if I think she’s going to help me; but all she is going to do is make sure not to break her co-workers word. She said I decided not to board my flight and not to pay (when I had explained to her that NO ONE told me that if I do not board at a certain time [although I was right in front of the check in desk] I would not be able to get on the flight. She told me that my only choice from here was to book a flight the next morning, which would cost me 800 Euros (more than double the fare of my two way ticket.) This whole time I was really treated in the most inhumane way, lack of basic dignity; truly oppressed (was not sure if this was some sort of an anti-Semitic act,) I really could not believe I was told to go sleep outside, your flight is in the morning, and will cost you 800 euros. All this, after they had made the mistake of telling me I will not have to pay for the luggage in Tel Aviv, and later not telling me that my flight is doing final boarding. At this point I feel helpless, and contact Air France in the US. They immediately sound like they want to help (a big change from what I had felt in Lyon) and I settled for paying $180 for a flight the next day. (Weird that my only option at Lyon was to pay 800 Euros for a flight the next day: FRAUD and unjust enrichment!) I expressed, this whole time, that my need to arrive the next day for work was urgent, no one cared. I figured that if I took a train to Paris, perhaps I could get on an early morning flight to Tel Aviv. And so I paid 140 Euros to get on the night train to Paris. I arrived around 2AM and went to sleep in the terminal. I woke up at 5am to go speak to the desk manager of the morning Tel Aviv flight, and she kindly directed me to the ticketing desk. At the ticketing desk I was asked to give my passport, and upon reading the notes that were written at the Lyon AF desk, they immediately changed to a rude tone. Telling me things like “we don’t need to hear what you have to say, it’s all written here;” “you didn’t want to pay now you have to pay the price.” Mind you all this is being said before I had said one word in Paris. I explained the situation and asked if I could get on the connection of the morning flight in stand-by. They told me that not only can I not get on the morning flight in standby, I cannot even catch my connection from Paris, but I have to take a train back to Lyon to catch my night flight that was booked by the US Air France (which has a stop in Paris!). The only option that was given to me was to pay 500 Euros and to get on the next flight from Paris to Tel Aviv. Understanding that this is already a trend to screw me over, I again called the US office, which kindly told me that the best they could do is for me to get on the night flight from Paris (the connection that I was just told I couldn’t get on) for NO CHARGE OR FEES. Clearly a personal revenge of the french desk or anti-semitism; how could it be that Air FRANCE, yes FRANCE, in the United States, a different continent, can do better for a client than in Paris (the HQ of the company?). I immediately went to file a police report (see attached) and spoke to my lawyer. Got on the flight the same night from Pairs to Tel Aviv and paid the luggage as well. Clearly another scam, as half of the people on my flight were in the same predicament of not knowing the flight they booked has no luggage allowance and then had to pay double the price for luggage. Another scam I will gladly expose. I had arrived in Tel Aviv the following day.
