Would like to tell you people from the burbs (aka the bridge-and-tunnel crowd) a few things about San Francisco at Christmas time. Reminding you gently, and compassionately, in the true spirit of the season. 1. You are not stuck in traffic. You ARE traffic. 2. Driving to the City and hoping to park within a half a block of Union Square on a nice clear afternoon a few days before Christmas is completely unrealistic. 3. Honking your freaking horn repeatedly at the 12 cars ahead of you in line at the parking garage will NOT make them move any faster. 4. Take BART. The Powell Street and Montgomery Street stations are within a few minutes walk of all the shopping action. 5. If youre too entitled to take BART, consider a taxi, shuttle, limo, boober, lyft, etc. If you can afford three kids and an Escalade, Range Rover, Tahoe, etc. with a horn thats way too loud then you can afford a paid ride. Remember to tip your driver. Happy Holidays to everyone from innocent bystander pedestrians and the non-horn-honking citizens of San Francisco.
