Would someone deal with this point please: What has happened to the creed which Jesus affirmed at the heart of his theology? Apparently no one cares! Having defined God as one single Yahweh (unitary monotheism) Jesus goes on to discuss Ps. 110:1 where the single Person YHVH addresses someone else who is not YHVH, but adoni, non-Deity. Dr. Hurtado speaks of the creed of Jesus in Mark 12:29 as pre-Christian. That gives the game away! Yes, Jesus has been left behind by the church. In fact left out. Jesus definition of God has been relegated to Judaism, while the Church claiming Christ blithely moved on to a Trinitarian monotheism. Will no one protest?
