Would you compare the Brazos River Authority CEO Phil Ford to Lt Colonel William B Travis and his fight to defend the Alamo? We wouldn’t either. But what if it is an accurate association? John Marshall, the writer of The Texas Miracle and Playing Possum, makes the comparison. We have been highly critical of the BRA, their staff, the Halff Study, the Water Management Plan and especially the shut down of the hydro electric dam. But the question that must be asked is ‘what if the BRA is being forced to make these changes by higher powers?’ We aren’t completely sold yet, but it makes for fascinating reading: “For many of the board members of the Brazos River Authority, that is exactly what the war over the shoreline of Possum Kingdom Lake became, their own personal Alamo. These admirable defenders of the Texas Constitution dug in deep and prepared for the next assault.
