Would you lend your voice to defend a formula feeding mother publicly shamed just as much as a breastfeeding mother? Why or why not? What do you think of this statement? Shaming a mother for feeding her baby — in public or in private, whether at the breast or with a bottle — is unacceptable, and it should not be tolerated. This is one of the points are suggested for those supporting mothers in their infant feeding journey in an article by Alison Stuebe for the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine about shame and guilt in breastfeeding health care and we have been discussing some of the points she made here.
