Secondment Opportunity - Falkland Islands Government Regulator of Monopolies Senior Executive Officer/Grade 7 The Falkland Islands Government have an exciting opportunity for a Regulator and are seeking expressions of interest for the appointment on contract or secondment terms. If you have drive, initiative and a sense of adventure, coupled with a track record in a regulatory role we would love to hear from you. This will be a unique and challenging position in a key role as the regulator of monopoly industries. We’ve started with the implementation of a telecommunications price cap and are now looking at our strategic fuel supply arrangements. Both the telecoms and fuel licences are due for negotiation 2014/15 and you will be involved in negotiations to ensure the regulatory frameworks protect supply, price and quality. You will have to hit the ground running, but as part of the Attorney General’s team you will have access to our legal drafters who can support you in getting the legislation right. Secondment terms will be agreed with your parent department and will include return flights and accommodation. Ideally we are looking for someone to commit to a 2 year secondment but will consider shorter and longer options. This would be an excellent development opportunity for someone who has the technical skills and is seeking to develop their wider skills on their journey to a more senior or strategic national role.
