Wow - what a night. The best talk yet in a state of the art lecture theatre with cinema size screen. Burnham on Sea History Group had a packed audience tonight and a report that they now have eighty members. They had advertised the talk on the internet and it brought quick results. They clearly found it fascinating as they were coming up in the interval to shake my hands in appreciation. Only problem was - I didnt get a chance to finish. The stories have grown and the dramas never ending providing a two hour marathon. They want me to return for so much of their history is ours. RAF WESTONZOYLANDs story stretches over the Bristol Channel and the firing range, airfield and camp at Donniford near Watchet. No less than four contributions to our archive plus a meeting from a groundcrew veteran of 542 Squadron of Canberras - the last to serve at our airfield. More miles to clock to get their stories......Robbert/Sec. (Thanks to friend and member Kev Drake who introduced me and better known to all as Home Guard Man.)
